BECON CO., LTD.
BECON CO., LTD., established in November 2020, is a beauty and healthcare technology company that originated from Samsung Electronics’ C-Lab incubation program. The company received seed funding from Samsung Ventures in 2021 and has since expanded to over 2,500 professional locations across Korea, Japan, and the United States. BECON’s flagship product, the AI Scanner, won the CES 2023 Innovation Award for its automated analysis technology.

Expanding to the United States Market
BECON launched U.S. operations in January 2024. The company opened its first demonstration center in Fullerton, California, through the Korea Seongnam Business Center (K-SBC), a government-supported initiative that helps Korean technology companies enter the American market.
The U.S. market represents a major opportunity for BECON. According to the American Hair Loss Association, approximately 35 million men and 21 million women in the United States experience some form of hair loss. The global skincare devices market reached $13.8 billion in 2023, with North America accounting for 35% of demand.
BECON targets three main customer segments in the United States:
- Hair Transplant Clinics – The device provides before/after documentation and helps surgeons track patient progress over multiple visits.
- Dermatology Practices – Detailed skin analysis supports treatment planning for acne, pigmentation, and aging concerns.
- Professional Salons and Spas – The scanner gives salon owners a way to offer scientific scalp assessments alongside traditional services.
